At last...
Missing...
Sorry people...I've been working so much that i don't have the time, or the will, to stitch or simply post a message...i got a bit done on "The Chess Game" and "Two of Wands", but nothing big...I haven't been working on anything for about a month or so, but sometimes it's good to renew strengths! I'll try to post the most recent pictures tonight!

"The Chess Game" 10/02/08
It's update day, and i wanted to give a few more detail about this project: first, and very important, the number of pages - 90 total!!! There are many people who say I'm not going to end it ever, but I'll try hard for that not to happen. For now, thought slowly, I'm doing great: I've already done the first row of pages, 10, and did the upper half part of the next 10 pages. As i started it on December 2005, i'll have at least more 10 years ahead... But i have to confess that I'm happier every day with the results: the amount of detail, the beautiful colors, amazing! And I'm almost reaching the tiles, anxious to begin to stitch some blue colors!
About the size: it has 498 stitches horizontally, and 667 vertically which means it will be huge - about 75 cm per 100 cm... almost the size of a rug...and lots of different colors. There are 160 colors, 80 solid and 80 blended, and that's why the result is so amazing!
Well, without more talk, here i post the picture of my last update:

Golden Kite SAL
I come here today to leave a quick message only to post the GK SAL's photos of this week: (before and after)I ended up working on the left side of the pattern because it's much easier...while on this part i can do a page per week, on the right side i can do a page per month!!!
Anyway, these SALs end up very useful to get ahead on works when you sometimes don't have many will to...

Egyptian Pillow
The time went by and i forgot to post the pictures of my finished pillow...it took me one day to stitch, so it was finished by December 20. I didn't want to embellish the pillow that much because i like simple lines, and i was lucky to find a fabric with a much similar color of the work's red (although in the magazine it was made with a white fabric, i thought it was too simple :) ). All i have to do now is to find a better filling...that's what i got in a rush!

"The Chess Game"
The SAL ended and i didn't get enough time to do what i wanted...maybe next time;)
Here are the photos from the before and after:About this project:
I'm using a 17 count fabric, and to be honest, I'm only using it because back then i could not find anything smaller...the work will be huge, almost a blanket :), and i need much more thread, but ok... it's what i got... after using different fabrics i think the ideal for me are the 18 and 20 count fabrics. First because they have good coverage with 2 threads, and second because they are not too difficult to work on.
This is my thread organizer:
I started organizing the threads in boxes since i begun to do this huge projects, and have been doing this ever since... Usually i have a box per project.
I also mark the progress with a highlighter, like my other projects. Additionally, i draw lines to mark the horizontal pages on the picture of the pattern, just to keep track of it.The backside of the work can get very messy in this projects with a lot of different colors! I'm not proud of mine but i eventually got used to it, and after all...who is going to see it after it's framed?!
This is the best part so far, with less changes in colors:and this is the worst, with a lot of single stitches of one color...
And that's all for today...I'll be working on this project the next week...I'm now working on a new part of the design and I'm excited for now! Let's see in a week...

"Sung Dynasty Bottle"
It was supposed to be "Lady Godiva", but this was my mini Christmas project...it's easier to go anywhere with a much smaller project...I've started it on the 23th of December and 'till yesterday i did all this! For now, I'll put it aside, let's hope not 'till next Christmas! I would like to finish it to hang it with "Oriental Butterfly". These Dimension's designs are gorgeaus, and they have many oriental designs, which i love!Has a kit, it comes with everything: threads, fabric, and even needle, so it's really great for me. This project has many back stitching, which i don't like at all, but in this kind of designs it's essential...
Tomorrow I'll be participating in Golden Kite's SAL (Sticth-A-Long), from Tuesday to Thursday, and i'll be working on my "The Chess Game" this time. I hope i can do some decent progress...
Here it goes a picture of the "before":Thursday i'll leave here more information about this project. See you!
