Pillow done!

I said i would finish it and i did! Finally...after 2 years without laying a hand on it...
This was the project i was working on when i bought my first big project, and i never touched it after. I gained so much practice with this kind of projects that i finished this one in only 3 days! The "only" thing i need to do now is to stitch the fabric to make the pillow...let's see how many years i take now to do it! ;)
Here i post the photo:
I've not decided yet in which one I'm going to work on the rest of the week and after, but it will be probably "Lady Godiva" since i haven't done a progress in a long while...

"Two of Wands"

Today is the first Sunday to post news!
This week I've been working on "Two of Wands" and made some progress. Since it's the first time I'm mentioning it i wanted to give a few details of this project.
Has a base for my work I'm using a frame instead of a hoop because i don't like the marks that the hoops leave on the fabric and threads.
Has a floorstand I'm using a "Stitchmaster" one, which can be very helpfull because this way i can stitch with both hands. Here's a photo of all this "stuff": Because this pattern has only solid colors, i can use one strand of each color, so i wanted to find the fabric with the highest count i could find... after so many time i found a store with this fabric that had just arrived: it's a DMC linen with 28 count per inch, the smaller i have ever worked on (and the most expensive one too!) but i have to say that working 1 count with 1 thread you get a really good result, and can't see the background fabric. The only problem is that i have to use a magnifier or else i would go blind in a week... In the beginning i tried without nothing but i could hardly see the stitches, so i had to buy one...
Since these kind of patterns are huge, it's almost impossible to know where i am at, so I'm using a highlighter pen to mark the stitches.
Well, after so many talk here it goes a photo of the update:
For the next beginning week I'm planning, after encouragement, to finish my Egyptian pillow ... i hope to finish it next week, because it's a pity not to finish this project since it's so close to the end.

And then...

Now, with everything organized, let's go to the important part!
My name is Sara, and I'm addicted to cross stitch. I began when i was around 6 years old, taught by my grandmother, and went on cross stitching, some years more, some years less.
I ended up around my 20's not liking the schemes on the market, and started to turn to the internet, looking for the perfect pattern. There i found Golden Kite, and got in love with the patterns! I had never seen nothing like that! They had so many and so good that it took me at least 2 years 'till i found the perfect one... and then i started "Chess Game".
I was a bit shocked with the size, and probably will take more than 10 years to finish it, but certainly it will worth it.
Meanwhile i started another one from this site, and another one from a very good site for those who like fantasy designs (Heaven and Earth Designs), so that i could rotate projects.
My rotation scheme it's not planned, i simply change when i get bored of the colors i'm working on one, or if i fell more like doing the other.
Presently i'm working on "Two of Wands" from HAED, designed by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, my site's favourite artist. I started it in the beginning of November. It's much more easier and doesn't has so many colors.
I don't use any special technique like parking or others, although i'll might try it someday on my "next to begin" project. I simply stitch the same color 'till i finish the thread.
I'll post here my update photos every sunday, if i manage to progress something during the week of the pattern i'm working on then.

This is how it starts...

Well, after so many time i had the courage to create my own blog...first because i though that there was so few Portuguese folks doing it specially concerning cross stitch, and then because it's a way of showing my projects and for encouraging me some times...
It will be mostly to show my cross stitch projects, but occasionally i will also post photos of other things i like.
Now comes the boring part! Try to edit this thing... hope i don't take too long...
